St Mark's Episcopal Church, East Kilbride

St Mark’s Church was one of the earliest to be built in the new town development of East Kilbride and it’s A frame construction makes it a landmark for the town centre. The rectory, halls and facilities were built over a period of years on the west side of the church and were of a utilitarian and inferior quality causing a major drain on resources.

The existing halls and rectory have been demolished and part of the site sold for a housing development as an enabling project, and re-landscaping of garden grounds accommodated a new car park.

The new hall extension provides compact and efficient modern facilities, with gathering space, hall, meeting room, kitchen and toilets, and the design reflects the dominant roof form of the church. The church has new glazed doors, a new heating system and was re-decorated.
