The ARPL design experience has led to a number of projects that address community scaled problems and issues, sometimes as winning competition entries. This can be the regeneration of a residential neighbourhood, advising on a town conservation area strategy for a local authority and also the diversification of privately owned rural farming estates.

The unique context of each site and its social or economic needs are examined and appropriate regeneration strategies developed. A number of the design strategy projects have then been developed as construction projects and we have worked as both project architects and as client’s agent in a design and build contract arrangement.

Estate Regeneration, Lochside, Ayr A partnership between South Ayrshire Council and Ayrshire Housing has revitalised this run down area through selective demolition, new build housing, conversions and fabric upgrade across over 200 homes. View Case Study

Ballymun, Dublin The phased project is part of the largest regeneration project in Ireland for the new town of Ballymun to the north of Dublin. View Case Study

Kilbirnie Townscape Strategy ARPL carried out a detailed townscape analysis of Kilbirnie to establish a future strategy for the town centre, in North Ayrshire, for Council development policies. View Case Study

Largs Townscape Strategy The Largs north shore seafront is under pressure from large scale residential development. North Ayrshire council commissioned ARPL to prepare a townscape strategy for future development . View Case Study

Carnell Estate, Ayrshire Diversification projects have been developed at three farms on Carnell Country Estate providing groups of cottages for the rental market through conversion and alteration of the steadings and removing redundant agricultural sheds. View Case Study

Dalry Townscape Strategy ARPL were commissioned to prepare and analysis and proposal for Dalry Town Centre. The strategy identified the unique qualities of the town centre, suggested the establishment of a conservation area and proposed an urban design plan for future development. View Case Study
