The care and conservation of historic buildings is a significant portion of the practice workload and we have developed expertise and knowledge in the sensitive repair of listed buildings and scheduled monuments. ARPL have experience ranging from medieval fortified structures and churches, to buildings of the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods. Often the focus is to find a long-term viable useful purpose for the historic building.
With conservation accreditation lead on the projects, we ensure a knowledgeable and experienced approach with the appropriate use of traditional materials and techniques. We have architects who are members of SPAB and have an interest in sustainability, and adopt the view of a kind hand with repair and replacement of materials only when necessary.
