Symington Parish Church, Ayrshire

The Category A listed 12th century Church in the village of Symington has benefited from a phased series of repair and conservation projects to the roof, stonework, timber structure and stained glass. Work has been carried out to the interior and exterior of the building. Various grants have been given to fund the phases, including significant grants from Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The most recent phase was to build a new North porch with toilet and boiler room and replacement of the external stair access to the gallery. The North gate and path have been altered and re-landscaped for disabled access. Work to the graveyard required great care and the involvement of archaeologists, as new drainage and services were upgraded.
