New Gateway, Ballymun, Dublin

The winner of an international design competition this project provides a mixed-use development of housing, student residences, offices and retail. The site sits either side of the main road where two sentinel towers act as a new entrance gateway to the Ballymun estate, on the north side of Dublin.

Ballymun is a late 1960’s housing estate undergoing a major European funded community regeneration project. Based around a series of mews courtyards this project seeks to establish a proper sense of place for the new housing while providing a significant urban presence for the estate.
