ARPL Architects have achieved one of the highest sustainable design accreditations in Europe from the Passiv Haus Institute in Germany. Following a period of study and examinations at Strathclyde University, Gordon Fleming, director of ARPL, has become a Certified Passiv Haus Designer, recognising his high level of expertise in sustainable and low carbon design.

The Passiv Haus Institute, based in Darmstadt, Germany, is an independent research institue which has taken the lead in low energy design across Europe, establishing design and construction standards for a range of building types including schools, offices and houses.

ARPL have followed this up with the completion of our first project designed to Passiv Haus insulation standards. The Gateway's End apartment building was handed over to Dublin City Council in June, with tenants having the opportunity to enjoy the low energy costs the design achieves.
