ARPL obtain planning consent for oldest theatre in Scotland

Planning Permission and Listed Building consent have been granted for ARPL's proposed upgrade of the Theatre Royal in Dumfries after detailed discussion with Dumfries and Galloway Council and Historic Scotland. ARPL have been working with the Guild of Players to develop a new vision for the Theatre Royal. Built in 1792 the theatre is the oldest theatre still in use in Scotland.

The project provides an upgraded auditorium, new public foyer areas and new studio and workshop facilities. This will allow the theatre to operate on a full time basis with this new range of multi purpose spaces.

The project is due to commence on site in February 2014 with completion one year later
