ARPL have always included surveyors and quantity surveyors as part of our multi-disciplinary team and offer a quantity surveying service for projects from inception through to completion. This function can be provided as either a service that is integral to our architectural services or as a wholly independent service to clients working with other design teams.
The practice typically handles construction with contract values between £100k through to £15m, and we are able to give cost advice and control for the various stages through a project development. From very early stages the QS is involved with sketch design budget cost plans, assistance with cost details for grant funding applications, preparation of bills of quantities and tendering process, and contract cost control with valuation and certification. In some situations we have provided a project manager role for the design team.
The variety of our architectural project types has helped develop a broad spectrum of detailed construction costing knowledge of traditional conservation works and contemporary technology. Appraisal of current trends in construction methods can be assessed accurately with the practical background of on-going projects.
